Quad director Henry Mason celebrates Great Britain’s diverse cultural heritage in his latest Uncle Ben’s campaign. 

For this film, Henry puts touching visuals to the brillant poem 'The British (serves 60 Million)' written by Birmingham based Benjamin Zephaniah. The poet is blessed with a verbal musicality inspired by his Caribbean heritage and his work is well-known for highlighting global issues such as racism or the need for greater social justice.

A cast of ‘non-professional’ talent was sourced over 8 weeks across the UK to showcase the diverse mix which makes up the tapestry of modern day Britain

The structure of this touching poem is directly inspired by a recipe. Henry presents a diverse portrayal of the British people as essential elements  in this unique recipe, whilst Benjamin's words ring strong and true « All the ingredients are equally important. Treating one ingredient better than another will leave a bitter unpleasant taste. »
